skin whitening. what you say of tanning making you look better and whitening doesn’t is your opinion. if people didn’t think it made them look better they wouldn’t do it. but i think whitening is more “self-hating” i guess because it has more permanent affects and a tan fades away (unless you develope skin cancer or other skin problems or take it to an extreme). it’s not really all that good for your body cause you can get cancer/aged skin/leathery skin/etc.

Uh actually no. Purposly staying in the sun for a reeeaaallyy long time to get tan is not good in any way for your body, it makes you wrinkle faster and look older faster. If its done unintentionaly, by just staying out in the sun for a few hours then its okay. Tanning is done more often, i think skin whiteing is more self hating unless it’s used for like some random medical reason, but there both bad for you, unless you get a spray tan i guess. Tanning isn’t really self hate.

They are the EXACT SAME THING. The only people who justify tanning and not skin whitening are those who tan but do not want to be dubbed “self haters” both are examples of self hating. Whites who hate being “white” and self hating blacks, who hate being “black” or whatever the ethnicity and complexion may be.
Skin cancer, 35 yr olds looking 65, and leather skin does not look healthy and if tanning so beneficial, those things would not happen.
Darker complexions are built for staying in the sun longer, light is not so tanning is actually less healthy for your skin than skin bleaching.

Tanning is not better for your body…It’s actually the opposite.
To me, skin whitening is more self hating because in society, tanning is more accepted, but It is a form of self hate because those who do it, don’t really like their original skin tine, thats why they do it.
“skin whitening has no benefits other then looking better” Ha…what’s up with the trolls thinking that light is always better?…people are beautiful not necesarily their skin color.

Skin whitening for sure. Self hatred at its finest. I don’t think people who tan hate their complexion overall. They are trying to get a glow and not be so pale which is unhealthy looking. Not that tanning is a good thing because it’s not. But those dark skinned groups who bleach their skin are horrid imo.

tanning is so we don’t look like sick zombies.
when darker skinned people bleach their skin, its to look more caucasian.
skin bleaching is no better then Asian girls getting eye and nose surgery to look white.
tanning isn’t self hate at all.
no white person wishes to live in this racist world as a colored person.

well,tanning is bad for your skin and makes you age 10x faster.and doesn’t necessarily make you look healthier just…darker.and skin whitening is just basically the opposite so….idk.

i tan and its not because i want to look latino or black, its because i don’t want to look sickly. i assume that if a dark skined person whitens their skin that it is possible that they are doing it because they think it looks better, not because they wanna look white
